Stopped by Carolina Rod & Gun in Charleston this weekend and saw an interesting consignment gun. It was a GHE 20 with Parker Steel barrels. Serial # was 162781 as I recall and they had a copy of a research letter.

Stock had a skeleton butt and very nice dark figured wood. Cap said Ilion. Letter didn't mention subsequent restock or repair.

Price was $8,900 but owner was supposedly motivated and better price could be had in the 6 area.

A skeleton butt would also be very unusual on a GHE. I would want to see some Remington repair codes stamped on the barrel flats to ease my mind about the stock and buttplate.
