Stopped by Carolina Rod & Gun in Charleston this weekend and saw an interesting consignment gun. It was a GHE 20 with Parker Steel barrels. Serial # was 162781 as I recall and they had a copy of a research letter.

Stock had a skeleton butt and very nice dark figured wood. Cap said Ilion. Letter didn't mention subsequent restock or repair.

Price was $8,900 but owner was supposedly motivated and better price could be had in the 6 area.

Shop phone is 843-571-7972.

A close look is warranted since Parker Steel barrels and an Ilion grip cap would not normally be original to a GHE Parker in that serial number range.  At that price, some research is called for.  A skeleton butt would also be very unusual on a GHE.  I would want to see some Remington repair codes stamped on the barrel flats to ease my mind about the stock and buttplate.

I also looked at that gun and a couple of other Parkers they have and was curious about it. I will be going to Charleston in early December and can take another look and get some photos, if possible. Is there any interest? David
