| I know this is a bit OT - sorry. I have not been able to get out of town to hunt the last couple weekends so my son and I decided to do the next best thing... build a gun rack! We saw one in a catalog we liked and copied it. We are so d--n happy with it we had to show somebody. Attached Image (viewed 289 times):

| Thanks... I've never been on the receiving end of that compliment. Admiring a great rack is a nice father and son activity. So was making this gun holder. Last edited on Mon Nov 17th, 2008 12:28 am by Dave Fuller

Dave,
That is a great looking gun rack. I have been looking for one like that. Where can I get the plans?

| We just sort of winged it without a set of plans. We got some teak decking at the lumber yard, made 3 panels 34 X 7-1/2, put some 34" legs together, the top piece has a 11 1" dividers that leave you 10 2-1/4" slots for guns. We put together some leather straps and covered the top piece with some deer hide we had tanned a few years ago. Dyed them both "medium brown" and put some teak oil on the wood.

I like the deer hide touch. Also with the way it folds up it should be mighty handy, taking to the club or shoots.

| Deer hide is the perfect thickness/consistency, we just glued it on with wood glue after we dyed it then rubbed it down with a little wax. Attached Image (viewed 232 times):

Dave,
Get ahold of RogerCoger, he build a very similar one for me and I'm sure can lend a hand with instructions.
