Does anyone know the full story on what happened to the Parker Reproduction parts?

The story that I read about is that Regent Chemical had a major flood and after the insurance claims were paid all the remaining parts were owned by the insurance co.and would not be sold for liability reasons. Maybe others know more about this than I do..

That's right--I called them after learning of the flood and they refused to sell me spares due to liability concerns.

There were reports that the parts were later sold to a third party.

Who is the third party? I recall the ad reproduced in TPS that depicted bins of parts available for Reproduction owners. How tragic if these are lost.

I looked through my records. I spoke with Richard Skuese about the parts in August 1997. I didn't have a problem with mine, but was just wanting to buy spares. No parts were being sold at that time and all service was being done in-house. No explanation was offered.

I called again in January 2001, after the flood, and was told that all parts were at Reagent Chemical's Middlesex, New Jersey site but wouldn't be sold.  "Limited warranty work" was still being done in-house and they would recommend a gunsmith for other work. If I remember correctly, I spoke with John Skuese on that occassion.

I can't remember the source of the rumor/report about the insurer selling-off the parts--or know if the story is true for that matter.
