The hunt has ended...It has been here 2 weeks....I  was able to take it out for 2 rounds of skeet last thursday. Im very happy with it.  The flats are marked ic/mod ....my stan baker barrel reader measures bores at .414 both barrels, choke right at .408 =.006   left at .405 = .009  The true bore diamiter is most likely .409  as the baker tool reads .005 over for some reason , the chokes would still be the same. It shoots point of aim and dusted several low house birds, ending with better than my usual 410 scores. It feels, swings great at 6lb-4oz and ballanced close to the hinge pin. I own a 5lb-10oz Merkel 360EL 410  and find it  light and wippy...the parker is solid and pulls up steady every time. The barrels are 0000 fitted to a 00 28ga. frame. The 410 barrel set and forend  are not serial numbered and will mate  up with all 3 of my other 28ga. repro frames perfectly.  Now thats cool!   I will load some pics tomarrow.....thanks all...

Kenny,

410's are fun. Down here we all started shooting with one and I'm supprised we retained any interest. Hell, Tom Mix couldn't hit anything with a 410. My father had a Rizzini SXS that he could run a limit of dove with if he chose his shots. The last time I saw that gun was at the Grand in Vandalia several years ago with a price tag of over $9,000. I didn't protect my inheritance very well. Most of them were choked full and full as I remember and the fellows that could shoot were death with the 410.

Harry, glad you brought up that last point.  By the way, I sure would like to have a set of those .410 Repro barrels if anyone has one sitting around.

Same here. Am I correct in that the 26" .410 barrels were not serialed to the gun but the 28" barrels were?

Bill, your chances of finding someone with a set of .410 Repro barrels "sitting around" are about like running into Michelle Pfieffer at a postal stamp machine, asking for change for a dollar.   (I know, I've looked!).   KBM

Dean, there were no 28" Repro .410 barrels that I am aware of.  Serial numbers were put on some guns that were part of two and three barrel set as originally made and in the rare DHE dedicated .410s.  The unnumbered barrels were mostly the sets that were sold separately as barrel sets or retrofitted by Skeuse.  I get the impression that even barrel sets retrofitted to existing 28 gauge guns by Skeuse were not numbered unless the customer requested it be done.

Thanks Bill, I was unclear on that issue. That makes sense as there were only three original Parkers with 28" barrels, one 27" and one 30" - all others were 26" and possibly a couple of 24"s.
