Don, will you be hunting around Calgary? I can't believe bird season will be open in less than two weeks in the part of Alberta I live in. It seems to be so far off, and then comes in a rush. The geese are starting to flock up now. From my window today I watched my yellow lab pup get her first close up view of Canada geese. Katie carefully walked up to about 50 feet and had a staring contest going with about 30 of them until my older lab ran up and busted them. She was so excited she bounced like a ball around the old boy all the back to the house. Can't wait for the season to open.

Yes, Bob, I understand we'll be hunting about 1 1/2 hours out of Calgary. Col. Gross, one of my primo hunting pals has a mulie/moose guide who has partnered with a local waterfowl guide. The Colonel and his wife came up to visit my poor wife who is recovering from 5 broken vertebrae asked if I were interested contingent on Debby's recovery and I said book it! Pending her escape from her braces, we'll be in Calgary 9/28

Don, I have found that Mark Gross is a very pleasant fellow.  I met him a couple of months ago after hearing his name mentioned by various friends for a long while.  I'm sure the trip to Western Canada will be memorable.
